More Than a Quilt Shop… It’s a Place to Belong
From university classrooms to quilting studios, our mission has always been the same: helping people learn, grow, and feel confident in what they create.
Our Story
Fox Country Quilts, LLC is nestled on 26 peaceful acres in Northeast Texas, where creativity, learning, and community come together in a way that feels a little like home… and a lot like inspiration.
Before Fox Country Quilts, there was a different kind of classroom. Donna and Chip both built their careers at Texas A&M University-Commerce. Chip served as Associate Dean for the College of Science and Engineering and taught environmental science classes, while Donna was the Director of Organizational Leadership and taught leadership, management, and business classes.
They spent years helping others learn, grow, and succeed. That didn’t change after retirement—the classroom simply changed.
Donna retired first and, in February 2018, became a certified technician for Handi Quilter. What started as a passion for quilting had already begun to grow into something more: a way to combine creativity, teaching, problem-solving, and hands-on learning.
In 2019, Donna and Chip started Fox Country Quilts. Shortly after, Chip became a certified Handi Quilter technician as well. Together, they brought their experience as educators, their love of learning, and their practical problem-solving skills into the quilting world.
