Longarm Quilting 101 - 3 Day/4 Night Retreat

Get involved in some serious learning in using your longarm machine. At this 3-day/4-night retreat, you will learn and practice numerous times the fundamental basics of: cleaning, maintaining, threading, tensioning, loading, sewing the plumb line, and basting your quilt. You will learn how to develop the muscle memory for free-motion quilting of numerous designs. You will then learn how to use different types of rulers to achieve the effective designs that will reveal your unique quilting creativity.

Arrival time for the Full Retreat is anytime after 3:00 pm on the day before classes begin. Room checkout is NOON on the last day of class.

Day 1 - Longarm Machine Quilting Basics - Learn skills that will help you manages your long-arm machine with confidence

Does longarm quilting interest you, and you’d like to learn more about it? Or do you just want a review of longarm quilting basics? This class removes the mystery of longarm quilting by explaining machine and frame elements and features, how to load a quilt, and vital facts about thread, needles and tension. Day 2 AM - Get Started with Free-Motion Quilting - Learn to create free motion designs that can be used to finish any quilt.

Create flowing designs by connecting simple design elements with continuous lines, traveling across the quilt or filling in a specific area. Learn how drawing and muscle memory contribute to beautiful free-motion quilting, and how you can create stunning designs.

Day 2 PM - Rulers Rule - Learn the safe way to use rulers & templates. See ways that you can incorporate these tools in your quilting

If you love precision and consistency in your quilting designs, you will love using design rulers and templates! These handy tools assist in placing designs accurately and stitching them out precisely. Learn to handle rulers and templates safely with the ruler base and Sure Foot, and how to achieve accuracy with the markings. Day 3 PM- Handi Feet

Find out what your longarm can really do and get ready to get more projects done.
