Learn the essential tools and techniques you need to begin creating and editing your own quilting designs.

Turn Your Ideas into Quilting Designs

Pro-Stitcher Designer gives you the tools to create, edit and personalize quilting designs for your own projects. But before you can begin creating, you need to understand how the Designer workspace works and how its essential tools fit together.

In this hands-on class, we will guide you through the Pro-Stitcher Designer workspace while you practice creating, selecting and editing basic design elements. You will learn how to work with objects, nodes and lines while building the foundational skills you will need for more advanced design work.

Who Should Attend?

This class is designed for quilters who are new to Pro-Stitcher Designer, have explored the software but are not yet comfortable using it, or would like a stronger foundation before moving into more advanced design techniques.

What You Will Learn

Navigate the Workspace

Identify the primary areas of the screen and locate the tools you will use while creating and editing designs.

Create Basic Objects

Use basic drawing tools to create lines, curves and shapes that can become part of a quilting design.

Work with Nodes

Learn how nodes and control handles affect the shape of a line and how to use them to make design adjustments.

Edit and Refine

Select, move, resize, rotate and reshape design elements while learning a practical editing workflow.

Save Your Work

Save and organize your project files so you can easily locate, revise and use your designs again.

Prepare for Pro-Stitcher

Learn the basic steps for preparing and exporting a design for future use with Pro-Stitcher.

Hands-On Learning

This is not a watch-and-wonder class. You will work directly in Pro-Stitcher Designer as the instructor demonstrates each tool and technique.

Our signature hands-on format gives you time to practice, ask questions and build confidence while an experienced instructor is there to help.

What to Bring

A Windows laptop or tablet with Pro-Stitcher Designer installed and activated.
Your laptop or tablet power cord.
A computer mouse. A mouse is strongly recommended for easier drawing and editing.
A USB flash drive for saving and transferring your work.
The Pro-Stitcher design library on your USB drive or already installed on your device. Participants using Pro-Stitcher Simulation may use designs already available in the simulation environment.

Skill Level: Beginner

No previous Pro-Stitcher Designer experience is required. Participants should be comfortable using a Windows computer, opening programs and locating saved files.
