Dear Friends,
There I was, sitting in our front office minding my own business when suddenly a piercing cry issued from the back of the shop, “My feet are missing! Where are my feet?!” A brief pause, then it goes again, “I haven’t seen my feet for several days, and I need them. Where are my feet?” It came from Donna who was clearly in distress.
I rushed to the rescue, and right away noticed her feet were right there at the end of her legs. I mentioned that perhaps I could be of assistance and would be able to point out her feet if she would be willing to accept my help.
She grimaced. “I’m missing my J-Foot.” That didn’t help. “I’ve got a whole foot box with my name on it, and I need it!” O.K., now I got it. Sewing machine feet. She was working on a butterfly block for a quilt she’s making. She was sewing what looked like five dozen little flying geese, or half squares, or whatever those things are called, and needed a special foot to complete the project.
Didn’t have a clue where her foot box might be, but I immediately started hunting. I used to be pretty fast finding missing things, but being up in years now, I find I’m only half-fast. And in the end, I couldn’t find it.
Not in the boxes near the sewing machine. Not near the longarm machines where the non-proprietary feet (i.e., those other than Donna’s) are found. are. Not in the drawers or cabinets at the front check-out counter. Not on the inventory cart. Couldn’t think where else to look.
Then the next day, Donna made the important announcement that she had found the foot-box. It had mysteriously gotten into the studio room, the room we are using to make videos and infomercials.
Whew! Now listen: Any good e-mail that comes from our shop needs to include a call to action! So the call this time is to ask you to please visit our shop frequently enough so you can help keep Donna from hiding her stuff from herself. And do some serious shopping while you’re here, for example, treat yourself to a brand new sewing machine. We sell the top brand, which is Baby Lock, and have several models in stock.
